The video showcases a new demountable truck designed specifically for Riverhead Building Supply, developed in collaboration with Gabrieli Truck Leasing. This 22-foot truck is tailored for navigating tighter residential areas in Rhode Island, featuring durable composite panels and a full wrap for branding. Its innovative design includes a curtain for easier loading of taller items and a large aluminum liftgate for heavy deliveries. The truck is reinforced with galvanized steel and aluminum components to enhance durability, ensuring safe and efficient product transport. The presentation concludes with an invitation to explore more about Victory Truck Body's offerings.
Hi, this is Gerry Hazzard with Victory Truck Body. Back again to show you another great piece of truck equipment that we built here at Victory. And we're coming to you from inside our brand new manufacturing facility here in Glassboro, new Jersey. And today, what I'm going to show you is a new demountable truck that Riverhead Building Supply got from us.
And we collaborated with Gabrielli Truck Leasing as well to make this whole thing happen. So first let's take a look at the actual body itself. Now, as with any customer that we do business with, we always keep their operation and application in mind. What you'll notice here, it's a little bit shorter than your normal box truck.
This is actually 22ft long, 96 wide and 103 high. And you'll see on the chassis, it's actually sitting on a lower profile chassis. This truck is going to run in Rhode Island. So you're going to expect it to be in tighter areas.
A lot of low overhead. So we kept that in mind when building this and spec-ing it to ensure that they had the clearance necessary to make their deliveries. When the trucks are out on the road. The other thing I'll point out is we use all composite panels on the sidewalls.
Again, more durability, but a nice cleaner look, for decaling They do get a full wrap on their body, so it's going to look really nice when this body is fully wrapped up. Stainless steel and shiny aluminum components for a nice clean look as well. And also for durability purposes. It increases the longevity of the life of the body.
You'll notice up top on the roof. We kept in mind those low overhead areas. Riverhead is a building supply company, so they are often driving through residential areas. And those are limb deflectors at the top.
So for those that are driving underneath tree branches, that limb deflector is great to deflect the tree limb over the body and avoid scratching and potentially damaging the roof on the truck body itself. So let's take a walk around the back. All right, so now that we're at the rear of the body. First thing I want to point out is our beautiful stainless steel rear frame that continues all the way down into the rear sill and the floor cap.
Again, more of a longevity play here to ensure that there's no corrosion and that it outlasts the actual body itself. The real big thing that I want to point out is probably sticking right out to you is the rear door. There isn't one. It's actually a curtain.
Now, Riverhead likes to have this curtain rear door option because, it's provides more of a rear door entryway for them when they're loading their windows and doors, which typically tend to be a lot taller than standard product loaded in trucks. So by having this curtain, they just simply slide it open on, sort of a rod behind the rear header there. And they're able to load the body quickly and then slide it close and tie it up on some grommets that we put on the side posts to the rear, rear of the body. The other thing I'll mention to before wrapping up the rear end is the liftgate here.
They put a large platform aluminum liftgate made by Anthony. And again, this assists the drivers when they're doing jobsite deliveries that don't necessarily have docks. And they're offloading heavy pieces of door window millwork. They can simply put it on this large platform and lower to the ground safely.
All right, so now that we're inside the body, I want to take a look at the front wall first. So because of the nature of how Riverhead loads their truck bodies, they are sometimes rolling in product on carts. And it's important that we protect this front wall. And because of the height of these carts, they would like us to protect the front wall using this galvanized steel plate here that actually ties in to the galvanized steel scuff, which also ties into the floor.
So when you talk about durability of the front wall and really securing it and reinforcing it, this is a great option to have for the front wall reinforcement kind of continuing around the sides and the bottoms. Here you have galvanized scuff, which is our standard scuff. Again, because of the height of their product they opted for a bit taller of a version. But again, still the same concept.
Ties the sidewalls in to the floor for extra reinforcement on the sidewalls as well. And then you'll notice these bars running down the sides. These are F poles that tie into the F track, and the floor and the ceiling for sectioning and securing the load, as well as each rack on the sidewalls. Again, to be able to ratchet product to the sidewalls for safe and secure, product when they're in transit to delivery.
All right. So we covered the truck body. And I mentioned that this was a demountable system. So I want to talk a little bit about why Riverhead went demountable before they were doing demountable.
What they were doing was sending all their trucks out for the day for deliveries. And then they were staging product at their warehouse stores, waiting for trucks to come back. When the trucks returned, they were either scheduling overtime or coming in the next morning to get the trucks loaded, and they were scrambling to try and get these trucks out on the road to make their deliveries on time. With the demountable system, they now just simply drop a demountable body at their warehouse door.
The truck takes a loaded body out on the road and throughout the day they are loading that demountable body at the Bay door. And when the truck comes back at the end of the day, they take ten minutes. They drop off the empty hook up to the full one, and now the truck is ready to go immediately. The next morning, when the driver shows up to work.
All right. So thanks for hanging out with me for the last couple of minutes. Before I go, I do want to mention that this is just one of the many things that we build here at Victory Truck Body. You should hop on our website.
VictoryTruckBody.com Check out all the other cool things that we can build here. And also keep in mind we did talk about Swap Body, right? But we can build this same style body curtainsides flatbeds in a standard body fashion.
So fixed on to the chassis. So again, if you have any questions, need help spec-ing something like this out, don't hesitate to reach out. We're more than happy to help and guide you through the entire process. It's pretty much it.
