For this spotlight, we’re proud to feature Roman Ojeda, Supervisor of the Paint Department and a nearly 16-year member of the Victory team. From starting on the shop floor to leading a department, Roman’s journey is a testament to growth through hard work, continuous learning, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Known for his attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship, Roman plays a key role in ensuring every finished product meets Victory’s high standards. His story reflects what Victory is all about: opportunity, dedication, and a team that takes pride in delivering quality work every day.

Just to start out: What’s your name and what do you do here at Victory?

Roman: My name is Roman Ojeda, and I am the Supervisor of the Paint Department.

How did you get your start here at Victory?

Roman: Years ago, I had a career working in construction, when I took on a project doing work on Rustin’s house. We ended up having some great conversations, and he told me about his company, Victory, which was Demountable Concepts at the time. He invited me to come here, and I agreed because it felt like the right decision. Almost 16 years later, I can say that it definitely was.

Is there a project or product you’ve worked on that stands out as a favorite?

Roman: I think that every project is rewarding in its own way, but two stick out to me. The first was repainting a brand-new sleeper cab and trailer for a customer. It was a great challenge for my team, and it felt rewarding to successfully complete such a large project.

The second would be the first paint job I completed on my own. It was a small project, but it turned out great, and I was proud of the result. There’s nothing like that first success after learning a new skill.

What does “Victory” mean to you?

Roman: “Victory” to me means making every day better than the last, and embracing each change and challenge life throws at you.

Starting my career at here at Victory was a turning point. I started at square one sweeping the floor here, then I learned how to spraypaint and apply graphics, and eventually I took trainings to become a supervisor. I am grateful for the personal and professional growth I’ve done over the years, especially during my time at Victory. All of this to say, every opportunity that comes along and every chance to learn is a step towards “victory.”

Alright, it’s time for your elevator pitch. Why should companies choose Victory over anyone else?

Roman: I’ll point to one of our company’s Core Values: Do The Right Thing – Always. Our entire team takes this to heart, and it shows in the quality of our work. If it means taking extra time to correct a mistake, we do it because we take pride in delivering the best possible product.

It also means we look out for each other’s safety, and support each other every day. Our people feel good working here, and that means we all put in our best effort and produce a better product.

When you’re off the clock, what do you like to do?

Roman: My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, and do fun things together on the weekends. I also love soccer - I still enjoy watching it, and up until recently, I played often.

When I want some time to myself, I enjoy reading and riding my motorcycle. I’m looking forward to warmer weather so I can get back out on the road.

Do you have a personal motto or quote that guides you?

Roman: Our Core Value I talked about earlier always sticks with me, but I’ll take it a step further. “Do the right thing always, even when nobody is watching you.”

Always do the best not just because other people expect it,but because it’s what you need to do to feel good within yourself.

Just for fun, what’s your favorite food, and what’s the story behind it?

Roman: I love Mexican food, specifically my grandmother’s tacos. When I was a child, she was always cooking for me – everything homemade from scratch. Her food was incredible, and I have so many great memories associated with that.
