Short, frequent dispatches from the production. New designs, builds in progress, and the engineering details that usually stay behind the welding curtain.
Just rolled a completed body out of the shop featuring something we're pretty excited about: a newly designed galvanized 2-step bumper with built-in provisions for a walk-ramp.
The design challenge here was making the two functions coexist. A step bumper needs solid, predictable footing for drivers climbing in and out of the box all day, while a walk-ramp needs a clear, secure landing zone that doesn't interfere with the steps. The new design handles both — and the hot-dip galvanized finish means it'll shrug off road salt and dock dings for the life of the body.
Photos below show the bumper on the finished unit. If you're spec'ing a body for high-frequency delivery routes, this is worth a conversation.
New design of a Chicago‑style step bumper for easier entry and exit throughout the day. This bumper was designed for a run of five bodies for Gemini Linen. These trucks utilize a more compact 20‑foot box mounted on a cab‑over Isuzu NQR chassis.
