Linen and uniform rental services operate in a demanding delivery environment that directly drives truck body requirements. In this article, we outline the real-world conditions these fleets face and how they translate into needs for the truck’s design and features.
Recent Linen Service Truck Body Builds
We recently completed truck body builds for two different linen service companies. While both operations serve in the same industry, their day‑to‑day demands are anything but identical. Each build reflects how Victory customizes truck bodies around the way our customers actually work. The result is two distinct solutions designed for the same linen service environment.

Arway Linen
The first project consisted of two truck bodies built for Away Linen. These units feature our standard dry freight box in a 26‑foot length, mounted on an International chassis and equipped with a Waltco liftgate. The configuration is designed to handle high‑volume routes, frequent loading and unloading, and the demands that come with larger payloads common in linen service operations.

Gemini Linen Service
The second project was a run of five bodies for Gemini Linen. These trucks utilize a more compact 20‑foot box mounted on a cab‑over Isuzu NQR chassis, making them well suited for tighter routes and urban environments. Standout features on this build include a sliding passenger‑side door for efficient curbside access and a Chicago‑style step bumper to support frequent entry and exit throughout the day.

A Better Dry Freight Van Body
Our van body is a best-in-class solution shaped by decades of real-world feedback from our customers. Before we ever built truck bodies, we spent nearly 40 years as a consumer ourselves, giving us a unique vantage point to see what was missing in the industry. That perspective drives everything we do at Victory Truck Body. Instead of treating essential features as premium upgrades, we make them standard features. You’ll find things like our stainless-steel rear frame, aluminum cast corner caps, composite panel sidewalls, and composite rear doors on every Victory Van Body.

Van Body Features Designed for Daily Linen Routes
Interior Protection with Galvanized Scuff
Every linen truck takes a beating during daily operations, which is why high strength interior wall protection is standard on Victory bodies. From carts to shifting cargo, the inside of a truck body sees constant impact, and without proper protection, those hits can quickly lead to punctures, delamination, and costly repairs.
Both builds feature Victory’s galvanized steel scuff installed along the side and front walls. Our standard scuff is manufactured from galvanized steel and stands twelve and a half inches high on the wall, delivering protection in high‑impact areas.
What truly sets Victory’s galvanized steel scuff apart is its bump‑out design. This offset runs from the bottom to the top of the scuff, keeping product clear of the stainless‑steel rivets that secure the panel to the wall. The result is a smooth, snag‑free surface that helps prevent product damage.
The L‑shaped design of the steel scuff adds another layer of strength. By tying the scuff directly into the floor of the body, we’re able to reinforce the lower wall structure where stress and impact are highest.

Cargo Control and Interior Shelving
From our discussions with fleet managers, daily linen routes require that they carry multiple types of cargo between rolling bins, loose bundles of linens, and hanging garments. E‑track rails mounted on the walls and/or floor, paired with ratchet straps, give drivers the ability to lock items in place.
The Arway build is a great example of this flexibility in action. It features two rows of e‑track installed on both the front wall and side walls, giving drivers multiple tie‑down points at different heights. This setup makes it easy to secure rolling carts, stabilize stacked linens, or reconfigure the space as deliveries and pickups change along the route.
The Gemini build takes a slightly different approach, incorporating folding aluminum shelving from another vendor that was installed at our facility. These shelves provide organized storage for folded linens while maintaining the ability to fold flat when bulk carts or larger loads need the space.
At the end of the day, effective cargo control is more than just preventing damage. Victory builds truck bodies that give fleets the flexibility to handle whatever the day brings, without compromise.

What Happens When You Design Around the End User
To sum it up, these two builds are the direct result of conversations with the people who actually use these trucks every day. By working closely with the leasing company and both linen customers, we designed and built bodies that meet their unique needs. We delivered features they’ll actually use, not just a predefined spec sheet. Your truck is more than just a vehicle. It is a critical component of your business, so don’t settle for anything less than the best. With the Victory van body, you’re choosing a trusted, bold partner that’s just as committed to delivering excellence as you are.
